| Engineering & Maintenance Manager The Original Cakerie is Canada's leading and largest privately owned frozen dessert manufacturer. Along with continued expansion and product line growth, the most important ingredient in our continued success has been our people. We employ over 425 employees, many of whom have been with us for over 15 years, in our Delta, BC facility. We are looking for an Engineering & Maintenance Manager to provide leadership through coordination of the technical staff with the goal of reducing maintenance costs while improving operating equipment effectiveness and maximizing output. This person will also facilitate the introduction of new equipment and tools to consistently improve the way maintenance and production tasks are accomplished for effective and efficient plant operation. Duties will include: * Functional business unit manager * Mentor, guide, and support team of engineers, operating engineers, millwrights, and electricians in all job functions and responsibilities * Manage the department as a predictive and preventive maintenance operation * Seek opportunities for improving production efficiencies * Manage capital and maintenance projects * Develop and own maintenance budget * Negotiate and manage contract and service agreements * Develop preventive and predictive maintenance policies and procedures * Develop quantifiable measures for tracking actual performance against departmental plan, and implement corrective action when required * Champion of organizational culture of people, change, and high performance through engaged employees and a focused approach to performance management * Maintain safe and economical operation of all plant systems and equipment * Ensure team members' compliance with acts, regulations, and codes related to facilities, equipment, environment protection, and Occupational Health and Safety Qualifications: * 5 years of supervisory / management experience in a technical environment with increasing responsibility and professional development * Engineering degree or equivalent experience and education * Excellent project planning and management skills * Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems * Strong troubleshooting skills * Strong understanding of Industrial Health & Safety regulations * Previous sanitary design experience an asset * Experience with ammonia refrigeration plants an asset * Understanding of control systems, Mitsubishi PLC experience an asset * Understanding of building HVAC systems * Proficient with general office software applications, control systems software, and ERP systems * Understanding of shop equipment and tools If you are looking for stable employment, a competitive wage with progressive increases and benefits, in a people focused workplace that is dedicated to safety, please send us your resume. | |
