Hayhoe Homes, a leading homebuilder and developer located in St. Thomas Ontario, requires a Draftsperson to join their team. The Draftsperson’s primary responsibilities will be to prepare working drawings and provide design support to the sales team.

This position will be a full-time contract averaging 40 hours per week.

Qualifications:
 Three year college diploma in Architectural Technology or related discipline.

 Three years’ experience drafting in a residential construction company (using computer software such as SoftPlan or AutoCAD).

 Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction details, electrical and HVAC diagrams, truss layouts and material specifications.

 A thorough understanding of typical residential building techniques and Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code.

 Experience working with structural engineers, truss & HVAC designer’s to ensure drawings meet project requirements.

 Ability to cost-effectively solve structural problems as they arise.

 Ability and willingness to apply all current HAYHOE HOMES building specifications and techniques to all future working drawings.

 Computer proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Softplan, AutoCAD LT, and computer file storage, e-mail attachments, etc.
